Vehicles in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities stated they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in association with the incident," they added.

City officials said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.

A high-ranking official said the incident left him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
